The Amphitheatre
Located a stone’s throw from the bustling Swanston Street tram stop, the Amphitheatre offers a place for University events, open-air performances and to simply relax and unwind.
Both Building 189 and the Amphitheatre are available for hire by the University of Melbourne students and staff. Within Building 189 there are five bookable spaces: Market Hall, The Gallery and four Activity Rooms. Please refer to the Building's Event User Guide for further details about these spaces.
Students and staff are able to submit a booking for any of these spaces via this online form. Please note, student events are prioritised during semester dates.
These venues are not available for external hire. If you wish to use these venues but are not affiliated with the University, please contact UMAC to discuss potential collaborations via [email protected].
